We've Helped Change

"During my lifetime I had accumulated quite a few "bad experiences" with different dentists. I am one that has difficulty becoming numb when the dentist does a procedure on me.

One particular experience was when I had a procedure done on my lower front teeth. Doctor Sambataro was doing gum surgery and was having a problem trying to numb the area around one particular tooth.

Dr Sambataro has always been an excellent dentist, he tries as much as possible to make your dental experience a good one. However, an extraction finally had to be done, needless to say, the experience wasn't the most pleasant.

My greatest worry was the fact that I would have to go back to have the area prepared for a bridge.

Remembering the prior very painful experience, naturally, I worried about it constantly and was not looking forward to having more work done in the area.

I discussed with Doctor Sambataro what my options would be to try to numb the area, I was told that he could use a new procedure called conscience sedation. I was very skeptical, but, decided to try it.

Conscience sedation, I feel, is a wonderful addition to dentistry.

It's easy, one pill at home, one in the office, recline in a comfortable lounge chair and his excellent dental staff takes care of you from there. I dosed off in the lounge chair.

I remember being escorted to the dental chair, but, after that I don't remember a thing. No tensing up in the chair with white knuckles on the arm rest, waiting for the next surge of pain.

The next thing I remember is drinking juice and being escorted to the waiting area. There was minimal post procedure problems, only that I felt drowsy and went home to take a nice nap.

I would definitely do conscience sedation again. I would suggest to anyone who' s afraid to go to the dentist to give it a try. I think they will be pleasantly surprised."

"When I learned I needed to have an extraction, my old fears from a few very negative experiences reappeared. But this time it was very different. I was very much at ease and relaxed.

For me the most important thing was that I felt more in control of the situation. There was absolutely no discomfort or pain during or after the procedure. I went home and rested and was ready for work the next day. I highly recommend this type of sedation for anyone, but especially for those of us who have had unpleasant experiences."

"Thank you for your kind gift of the Oxyfresh irrigator. I have been using it regularly.

Also, thank you for being such a family-friendly place for our gang to visit. It makes our dental routine much easier. Of course, it’s a little hard because the younger ones actually cry if they don’t get to go with us during the older siblings’ monthly ortho check – but that just reinforces what a wonderful place your dentist office is; including the staff. Thank you again."

Gina

"Don’t let anyone tell you “It’s all in your head”. A while back a friend of mine asked me to see her mother in my office. It seems her mother was finding it difficult to get any food down. Everyone in the family insisted she was “anorexic” and it was all in her head.

After one session I knew that she did not have an eating disorder. I referred her to a physician for a medical examination. Sadly, it was too late. She had throat cancer and died that same year."

"Thank you for your follow-up call yesterday to see how Bryce was doing. He is fine and in no pain and is raving about how he went to the dentist and the dentist pulled a tooth and it never hurt and still doesn't. My ex-husband even asked for your, card.

Thank you again for taking Bryce so quickly and efficiently, not being a current patient. You and your staff made us feel very at ease and welcome to your practice.

As you saw Bryce is a very active boy but we hope he doesn’t have any more emergencies. We look forward to you taking care of both Bryce and Jocelyn in the near future for routine care. Thanks again for all your help."

"You are the painless dentist!!! I’m so happy I can’t thank you enough. You are wonderful!"

"Carol was no different than many of the people I meet. I guess it is human nature to avoid things we experience as unpleasant. That’s probably why most people avoid dental treatment until they are in pain.

I remember clearly Carol telling me she didn’t feel a need to replace an old filling just because I though there might be decay under it. After all, it wasn’t bothering her. Why fix something that isn’t broken.

Of course, I told her how important it was to treat the problem before she was experiencing any pain or discomfort, but that made little difference to her.

A year later, Carol returned to the office, complaining of severe pain.

As I had suspected, the cavity became so extensive it expanded into the nerve and weakened the tooth. She bit down while eating and the tooth fractured.

By now the decay was so advanced I was unable to save the tooth. It had to be extracted and replaced with a bridge.

Now she had to spend more money and time for something that could have been treated conservatively and less expensively by just replacing the old filling."

"You are the best dentist in the United States!! I can chew on both sides now. Thank you."

"Four months ago you made a mouth guard for me... Even though I’m an infrequent user of the mouth guard, along with (your) relaxation exercises 2 X a day, has given me incredible relief. I don’t grind on my appliance at night, and my teeth aren’t clenched at all during the day. I have never in my life been so comfortable and TMJ pain free. Thank you very much."

"Please know that Bob & I are delighted with our new bonded teeth.

We appreciate your expertise and hard work in turning our teeth from “frogs” into things of beauty!"

"It was fantastic seeing both you and Cindy on Tuesday. I was very impressed by the way you run your operation. I deal with a lot of doctors, and I must say that the experience one has with your office is extremely positive. But, I would not expect anything less from you."

Frank

"I’ve been a patient of yours for sometime now – at least over 15 years if my memory is correct. So it goes without saying – “You are the only dentist I trust doing the work & fine dental work you do. – And I’m glad to have you as my dentist!"
